Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida. With a seating capacity of 147,000, it is the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR.

It is also the venue for ARCA, AMA Superbike, USCC, SCCA, and Motocross. The track broke ground for renovation in July of 2013 and is expected to be completed in January 2016. Daytona's tri-oval is 2.5 miles long with a front straight of 3,800 feet. The trip-oval shape was revolutionary at the time of initial construction because it greatly improves sight lines for fans. It is also one of two tracks on the Sprint Cup Series that uses restrictor plates to slow the cars down due to high speeds.
